Round up of Miami happenings this month

  • This could be cool: Miami Community Fruit Gleaning is a volunteer network that coordinates cooperative harvesting of fruits and vegetables that would otherwise be left to rot. If you are a homeowner with fruit trees on your property or hungry citizen who’d like to help pick, join the group and share in the harvest!

Are you into sports and/or working out? Then these might be of interest:

  • Coral Gables Adventure Boot Camp! Apparently it’s a four-week outdoor program of fitness instruction, nutritional counseling and motivational training. You will be inspired and have fun while participating in a fantastic workout led by Certified Adventure Fitness Trainer, Glenn Greer. Each day, camp will be one hour in length starting at 5:30 am and 6:00 pm
  • The Florida Marlins are offering a special online auction from June 1st to July 1st to benefit the ALS Recovery Fund and the Florida Marlins Community Foundation. For more information visit or call 305-623-6497.

And finally!

  • If you like Biking you might want to attend Miami’s first Bike Summit TONIGHT (6/15) at JOSE MARTI COMMUNITY CENTER. All are welcome to the first ever MIAMI BIKE SUMMIT to help create the city’s first Bicycle Master Plan!!  Learn about the ways Miami is becoming a more bike-friendly city and give your input as to where bike lanes, bike paths, parking and signs are needed.  6pm to 9pm, 351 SW 4th St. For more information contact the City of Miami Bicycle Coordinator, Collin Worth at
