My list of Coolness Blog

{August 5, 2009}   All things Miami this week

First up: My favorite local record store Sweat Records has two very cool events coming up:

  • Sweat along with Circuitree Records is helping raise funds for elementary school kids art supplies. This year’s school art budget is ZERO dollars. Art is so important and was always my favorite class in school. Come out to The Giving Tree, a mashup of live performances from local bands like Afrobeta, DJ sets and visual artists doing their thing. It’s happening TONIGHT at The Vagabond (30 NE14th St. Miami), Wednesday, August 5 starting at 9:30pm.
  • Sweat Records shop needs to raise funds to get their A/C back (an emergency in Miami). Sweat is holding a killer party to raise money and nonother than Iggy Pop will be the guest of honor. Pop is also lending his image to a series of Limited-edition t-shirts. Come out and support your local record store, Aug. 22, Awarehouse (550 NW 29th St., Miami 33127) in Wynwood starting @8pm.
